Jarrolds launches new-look deli

As part of an extensive branding and refurbishment programme, Jarrold has launched ‘Downstairs at Jarrold’ this autumn.

Head to the basement at Jarrold and you are in for a big surprise. As part of a two-tiered extensive branding and refurbishment programme, the much-loved deli has a much larger footprint, with more space to stock your favourite local food and drink, a dedicated wine and spirits area, and a bar where you can enjoy a glass of wine or two and sample tapas from the cheese and cold meats from the deli.

The newly expanded Deli launches ‘Downstairs at Jarrold’, a refurbishment programme which will eventually see Café Metro transformed into a bistro with pizza oven, offering a menu of small plates with an extensive drinks menu.

Jarrold trading director John Adams said: “Over the last two months the deli at Jarrold has been undergoing an exciting transformation. More than doubling in size, the new deli incorporates a brand new fresh counter specialising in local foods and a carefully curated selection of produce from around the UK and Europe. The expansion of the deli has also enabled the creation of a new larger wine and spirits department, including an intimate wine bar offering a selection of food and wines from the deli.

“Jarrold has been working with CADA, a London-based design firm on the £500,000  transformation of the deli, which is the first phase of a wider investment plan for the department store’s lower ground floor.”

Jarrold Deli buyer and manager Judith Finney said: “The food offering at Jarrold has become a very important part of our business. At the deli you can find a wealth of produce from carefully selected local food and drink producers and suppliers, as well as independent national brands.

“The expansion of the Deli will enable us to offer more choice and a better shopping and eating experience to Jarrold customers.”

The new deli launched on the September 27.
