Latest donations from the Jarrold Staff Charity Challenge

Jarrold Staff Charity Challenge was delighted to be able to present cheques for £1000 to Alfie Hewett and to Paul Strutt from NARS (Norfolk Accident Rescue Service).

The monies were raised at the annual Carol with the Kings evening which took place at the Forum on Sunday December 4th. An audience of 370  was entertained by Olly Day with a mix of jokes, witticisms and songs,  Dale Bullimore, who wowed  everyone with a great song medley and then the Blue Sueders with Elvis, who entertained as always with fun, enthusiasm and a great selection of songs – with the audience joining in – both singing and dancing.

The evening raised just over £2600 - £2000 of which has been donated to Alfie Hewett and NARS with the remainder going  towards the next donation to be made from the Jarrold Staff Charity Challenge.

NARS – Norfolk Accident Rescue Service. This service attends major road accidents and medical emergencies and works alongside the ambulance crews and air ambulance.  It is manned by volunteer doctors and paramedics and receives no funding from the NHS so relies on charity events and donations. Paul Strutt from NARS also joined us on the evening and thanked JSCC for the fundraising and also for helping to raise awareness of NARS and the service they provide

Alfie Hewett – the wheelchair tennis player from Brundall has won the Wheelchair Doubles at Wimbledon and 2 silver medals in the Paralympics during 2016. Alfie and his family joined us on the evening and he expressed his sincere gratitude for the funds and explained how that will be used to help with his travel and training expenses – this week he heard he has qualified for the Australian Open in 2017.
