An exhibition celebrating the life of master craftsman and teacher David Holgate is the latest show at Norwich Cathedral.
The exhibition has been staged jointly by the Norfolk Contemporary Art Society, the Norfolk Contemporary Craft Society and the Norwich Twenty Group. Holgate, who died in 2014, was an important member of all three groups and they have come together to mark his considerable achievements and influence.
His best known works in Norwich are probably the statues of Mother Julian of Norwich and St Benedict which are on either side of the west door of the cathedral. The show features artwork, letter carving (one of which give the exhibition its title), sculpture and working drawings as well as photographs and memorabilia from his musical life.
