The winner of the 2009 UEA Jarrold Creative Writing Prize has been announced. Sarah Christie not only achieved an outstanding performance as the highest achiever in the creative writing cohort of her year, but was also the highest achieving student across all the English students (a total of around 200 in the year group). She achieved a starred first in her degree.
Professor Rebecca Stott, Professor of English Literature and Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia said 'We are very proud of her and expect great things from her in the future. She is a remarkable writer both in poetry and prose'.
Caroline Jarrold, Secretary to the John Jarrold Trust which made the award said ' We are delighted have been invited to support this award and celebrate the talent which is developed at the UEA, we will follow Sarah's career with great interest'.
