Jarrold Receives Arts & Business New Partners Awards
Jarrold received two A&B New Partners Awards at a reception held at Audley End on 24 May.
The first award was for working in collaboration with the Norfolk and Norwich Festival in 2004. During the one-day Street Festival held in the run up to the main festival various comedy acts performed in and around the Jarrold Department Store in the centre of Norwich. A pilot training scheme involving a small group of staff and using theatre-based techniques was also part of the project. The aim of the programme was to develop the relationship between Jarrold, as a long term supporter, and the Norfolk and Norwich Festival in different and innovative ways.
The second award was for an enlarged training programme featuring actors performing scenes set on the shop floor to develop staff skills and awareness in providing the best service to customers. The programme was developed with ‘Moving Parts’ a Norwich based company and was run at The Garage, a new arts and training venue in the city. Over 130 members of the retail staff took part in the programme and the feedback was very positive.
Both programmes were supported through the A&B new partners programme.
