The John Jarrold Trust has made a donation of £250 towards the cost of new railings and a gate for the Grapes Hill Community Garden. This exciting project will see the conversion of a run-down disused area near Norwich City Centre into a community garden. The designs include plans to grow a variety of organic vegetables for the community and the planting of trees, shrubs and flowers to improve the air quality in the area. Local residents have been involved in the development of the designs and the scheme has received £50,000 in of lottery funding to pay for the building of the garden. Work is due to start in the late summer of 2010.
