Jarrold’s Children’s Book Department has won a national retail award. At The Bookseller's Annual Awards ceremony in London’s Natural History Museum last week, the team was awarded the Walker Books Children’s Independent of the Year and brought back a splendid crystal trophy to the Norwich store.
The evening ceremony was hosted by BBC Radio 2’s Jeremy Vine and the award was presented by Anthony Browne, the Children’s Laureate, to Sue Morgan, book department sales manager, and Liz Jary, Jarrold’s children’s book expert.
Sue Morgan commented “This is a highly prestigious award and we are thrilled and delighted that the hard work of our children’s book department team has been recognised in this way” She added “Our aim has always been to provide a good shopping experience for families in Norwich, with knowledgeable booksellers, high standards of customer service and a real sense of entertainment and fun, with quirky promotions and lots of children’s events.”

- Strong links with schools and teachers
- Fun, well-organised events and interesting promotions
- Dedicated and well-supported team of children's booksellers
The next event in the children’s book department is on Saturday 3rd October at 11am with a Very Hungry Caterpillar storytime and art activities as part of the Norfolk and Norwich Food Festival, as well as a programme of events for October Half Term.
