Jarrold Staff Charity Challenge Support the Diabetes Unit at NNUH

Jarrold Staff Charity Challenge were delighted to be able to present a cheque for £1,200 for the Diabetes Unit at NNUH. The donation was made in memory of our colleague Richard Rose, and Richard’s wife Marilyn and daughter Kirsty joined us for the presentation.

The cheque was gratefully accepted by Professor Jeremy Turner and Senior Children’s Diabetes Nurse Suzanne Lee. They explained that the money would be used  to extend the funding for a transition facilitator, in essence a youth worker for 14-19 year olds with, predominantly but not exclusively, type 1 diabetes and that it would contribute to that project in a very meaningful way for a group of patients who tend to have a particularly tough time with their diabetes.

Richard’s daughter Kirsty said “I just wanted to say a heartfelt thank you to you and the lovely ladies from your beauty department for what you did in Dad’s memory. It really does mean a lot to us all and to be able to do a little good out of something so sad while remembering my dad means a lot. Please do pass on my thanks to everyone who helped in the fundraising”.
